It’s winter and though you may be tempted to snuggle with your little bully in front of some classic http://www.satellitetv-hq.com/ channels you’ve got to remember this is a hard season on his health. Here are a few ways winter isn’t kind to your bulldog’s body:
Itchy Skin: When their skin gets dry it’s flaky and itchy and over-washing can really only make it worse. If you wash the dog often be sure to use conditioner and brush his coat often to get the extra hair off his little coat.
Wet Paws: With winter weather about to hit full steam the ground’s going to be wetter than ever. Be sure to clean your bully’s paws when he gets inside to keep them from infection – don’t forget to dry them, though, as wetness breeds sores.
Cold Weather: Contrary to popular belief, bulldogs only enjoy the cold up to a certain point. If you’re going to be out in weather less than 50 degrees for any extended period of time you need to get a little coat or sweater to help him conserve body heat.

If your decision is to buy a bulldog and want him/her for companionship, then the French Bulldog is your choice.
Bred just for companion animals, they do like to be around humans and crave the attention you can give them. The French bulldog is the smallest of the breed, with the English being the next and the American bulldog being the largest at full weight and height.
Bulldogs are charming and lovable companions, they can be very energetic as puppies, and some forget how much they can really throw their weight around!!The English bulldog can be the most aggressive and you need to be careful if bringing him into the family of other dogs.
For apartment dwellers, the French bulldog is your size, the English Bulldog loving to be inside as well and both of these choices need but a brisk walk everyday to help keep weight gain down.
American Bulldogs being larger and more energetic need the outdoor space.
Remember, when choosing any dog, the environment, the space you live, the personality of the persons in the household all need to be factored in to your decision. Our English Bulldog Charlie needs a daily face washing but low maintenance any day!

The bulldog is great as a watch dog. It is medium sized and has a smooth coat. They have a short head, and wide shoulders. They are courageous dogs, but not vicious. There are several different types of breeds of bulldogs. Bull dogs are among the most expensive dogs that you can buy. They are sometimes difficult to breed. They look similiar, but vary some in the sizes and weight. They have a low exercise requirement and no trimming or clipping is required because of the short hair.Confused? Here ‘s a little help . Bulldogs have a peaceful demeanor and the do not bark. They still make the perfect watchdog however. Bulldogs are great with other pets, put sometimes get agressive with dogs that they are not familiar with. They are great watch dogs because they respond well to obedience training and have a high memory capacity. They are also good with children. Bulldogs prefer warm weather, but do not need to be kept outside if the weather is extremely hot. Bull dogs sometimes have trouble with overheating if the weather is too hot outside. Exercise the bulldog by taking nice walks outside. Bulldogs have been said to be great for the first time dog owner.

Bulldogs are heavy set, muscular dogs that typically have a wrinkled face and short nose. Bulldogs can be aggressive but when trained, they are very loveable and make great companions.
The bulldogs origins date back to 1500 in England, where it was spelled as Bondogge and Bolddogge. In modern day spelling, bulldogs were mentioned in a letter by Preswick Eaton in 1631 or 1632. The original bulldogs were thought to be so violent that they were almost unresponsive to pain; thus, bulldogs were used for dog fighting. The sport was so savage that dog fighting in England was banned in 1835 by the Cruelty to Animals Act. However, in the New World, bulldogs were used for a sport called bull baiting. In this betting sport, the dog was to attack a bull that was tied to a post, where they would fight to the death.
In 17th century New York, bulldogs were used to gather dangerous wild bulls that were invading the city. This job was too dangerous for humans; therefore, bulldogs were trained to corner and hold the bull by the snout until a rope was placed around the neck.
The original bulldogs were soon bred with the Pug, making the resulting dog thicker and shorter, all while maintaining the athletic abilities.
