Differences Between The American Bulldog And The English Bulldog
There are many different breeds of Bulldogs. Two of the most popular breeds are the English Bulldog, and the American Bulldog. There are many differences between the two breeds. The adult English Bulldogs will grow to be 40-50 pounds, on average. The adult American Bulldog will grow to be an average of about 100 pounds. So there is quite a difference in size between the two breeds. English Bulldogs are quite stalky, and short. American Bulldogs are taller, and muscular. The English Bulldog will live about to be about 8 years old, on average, while an American Bulldog can live up to 16 years. The American Bulldog equires more excersize than the English Bulldog, but both dogs, being short haired, are easy to groom. The English Bulldog has an average litter of about four to five puppies, and because this breed has such a large head, they often need a caesarian section when giving birth. The American Bulldog has an average of eleven puppies in a litter. American Bulldogs, overall are healthy dogs, in most cases. They are prone to hip dysplasia. English Bulldogs are known for having many health issues, such as poor eyesight, skin inections, hip and knee problems.
